Atlanta Falcons (0-0) at Philadelphia Eagles (0-0): Atlanta played Philly tough in last season’s

playoffs. The Falcons are building a really fast, young and aggressive defense.  They take the next step this season and start off by flustering Nick Foles who did not look good in the pre-season and will miss Alshon Jeffery.

Falcons 17- Eagles 13.

Jacksonville Jaguars (0-0) at New York Giants (0-0): The Giants overhauled their offensive line and it’s going to take some time for the unit to gel.  The Jags are a very tough first opponent as they rush the passer well. New York has excellent skill-position talent, but again Jacksonville has a talented secondary and fast linebackers that match-up well.  Big Blue must limit the Jaguars running game, but Jacksonville improved their offensive line. Leonard Fournette looks poised to have a big season.  The G-men are game in their home opener, but fall to a superior Jacksonville team.

Jaguars 23- Giants 20.

Houston Texans (0-0) at New England Patriots (0-0): The Texans have never beaten New England at home. However, this Patriots team is ripe to be upset.  The AFC champs are missing Nate Solder, Dion Lewis, Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola and Malcolm Butler.  That is a lot of talent to lose.  RB Sony Michel, the Pats prized 1stround draft pick, missed the pre-season and may not be able to contribute much.  Brady and Gronk remain, but New England does not have enough firepower to keep up with Deshaun Watson and company.  Watson is calm, cool and collected in orchestrating a big opening day upset for Houston.

Texans 27- Patriots 23.
