This original NFL draft article can be found on the PFDN blog.

Hakeem Nicks is gaining rank on the PFDN draft board. The more we study him, the more we become convinced that he can be a very productive NFL wide receiver.  Many believe that Philadelphia should jump on the opportunity to select TE Brandon Pettigrew with their top pick (#21) in the 1st round of the NFL Draft.  We just do not see Pettigrew being a Jason Witten-like (sorry Eagles fans for the Dallas comparison) NFL pass-catching threat.  We rate Nicks quite a bit higher than Pettigrew.

This former North Carolina wide receiver & NFL Draft prospect has size, strength and velcro for hands.  He would be an ideal complement to the speed and quickness of DeSean Jackson.  Nicks could work the middle, break tackles and provide Donovan McNabb with a sure-handed end zone target.  Who does Philadelphia have at wide receiver other than the promising Jackson?  Reggie Brown’s career is heading in the wrong direction, Kevin Curtis is another small receiver and Jason Avant and Hank Baskett are career back-ups.  A detailed scouting report on Nicks and Pettigrew is available on the PFDN draft board.

The Eagles have a definite need at tight end, but fortunately ....You can read this full NFL Draft article on our Blog (www.profootballdraftnetwork.com/wordpress), but to summarize if you are pressed for time......

He is one of the better 1st round values in the 2009 NFL Draft.
